Our take on Dwarf Looter
The bounce point arrives when the inventory fills and valuable finds must be discarded or a descent must end. Players who also dislike permanent death will face a second wall when a defeated dwarf loses the run in the depths.
What is Dwarf Looter?
Dwarf Looter is a humorous fantasy roguelike dungeon crawler about a greedy dwarf searching procedurally generated ruins.
Each descent combines exploration, enemy encounters, treasure hunting, and turn-based combat using axes, shields, armor, magical artifacts, and unusual items such as salamis. Inventory space is limited, so collecting loot requires choices about what to keep. Greater wealth increases the danger of the GREED curse, making the journey back to the surface more perilous. Light RPG progression supports improvised runs, while permanent death makes each expedition consequential. Enemies include rats, goblins, demon lords, and dragons, with a final boss standing between the dwarf and the goal of becoming the richest dwarf.
How Dwarf Looter plays
- 01Procedural Ruins
- Each expedition takes place in newly generated underground areas with changing challenges, enemies, and treasures.
- 02Limited Inventory
- Restricted carrying space forces decisions about which weapons, hats, snacks, artifacts, and valuables to retain.
- 03Turn-Based Combat
- Battles use axes, shields, armor, magical artifacts, and unconventional equipment including salamis.
- 04Greed Curse
- Accumulating more wealth increases the danger during the attempt to return to the surface.
- 05Permanent Death
- A defeated dwarf dies permanently in the depths, ending the expedition.
