Our take on Daemonologie
The defining structure is a self-directed village investigation: each day combines questioning locals with a cryptic nightmare, while the player must keep track of clues and decide whom to believe.
What is Daemonologie?
Daemonologie is a brief folk-horror investigation set in Scotland during the witch hunts of the seventeenth century.
Players take the role of a witch finder, questioning villagers and judging which accounts are honest or false while trying to identify the concealed witch. At the close of every day, a prophetic nightmare appears in a stop-motion-inspired style and may reveal obscure clues. The investigation offers no guided path, making note-taking and personal decisions central to play. Hand-drawn pixel visuals, an original musical score, and linked story threads support a compact session that can be revisited to uncover more of the narrative. This edition expands and reconstructs the developer’s original entry from the 2020 HPS1 Jam.
