Our take on Hachishakusama | 八尺様がいた夏休み
The store presentation pairs a soothing countryside atmosphere with a frightening pursuer, but gives less emphasis to the limited interaction structure: errands, conversations, text advancement, and escape encounters. The appeal therefore rests mainly on the story’s supernatural tension and setting rather than broad mechanical variety.
What is Hachishakusama | 八尺様がいた夏休み?
Saku travels with his father to the rural village of Kibuse, but is left there after his father departs.
While carrying out tasks for his grandfather and meeting a local girl, he becomes involved with Hachishakusama, a mysterious ghost from Japanese folklore. The story follows his changing summer and the choices he faces while the apparition remains close by. Gameplay combines village exploration, interaction, task tracking, and text-driven scenes. Encounters with Hachishakusama require hiding, running, and finding ways to outwit her. The setting uses changing scenery and natural sounds to contrast with the horror. Movement uses WASD, interaction uses E, tasks are viewed with Tab, and the mouse controls looking and camera movement.
