Our take on Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come
Rather than treating each battle as a separate RTS encounter, the campaign carries a chosen knight, veteran soldiers and faction relationships from mission to mission. Between battles, troop management and hero development become part of the strategy.
What is Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come?
Follow a chosen knight through a mission-by-mission campaign from Constantinople to Jerusalem.
Select one of five heroes, each with distinct skills and starting resources, and build the character through experience and rising ranks. Battles use large armies on varied terrain, where elevation, weather and visibility affect unit abilities and combat. Between missions, manage troops, supporting characters, equipment, hero upgrades and acquired ducats. Soldiers gain experience and can learn skills, making veteran units part of the campaign’s evolving army. Faction choices affect relations with other groups and can bring rewards such as special units, skills or another hero. A Faith score changes with decisions, influencing morale and the effects of Christian relics.
How Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come plays
- 01Campaign hero growth
- A selected knight gains experience and rank over the journey, with five heroes offering different skills and starting resources.

- 03Between-mission management
- Prepare the next army by upgrading the hero, distributing weapons, spending ducats and handling supporting characters.
- 04Faction relationships
- Building ties with one group gradually closes off others, while loyal allies can provide units, skills and heroes.
- 05Faith and relics
- Decisions can raise or lower Faith, which shapes morale and the strength of relic effects.
