Our take on Cris Tales
The defining mechanic is the simultaneous view of past, present, and future. Actions taken in the present can alter later scenes, while combat uses the same time-shifting idea to reposition enemies and shape encounters.
What is Cris Tales?
Cris Tales is a turn-based RPG set in a hand-drawn dark fairytale world.
Play as Crisbell, a newly awakened Time Mage, and travel across Crystallis and four kingdoms with recruited companions such as Matias and Willhelm. The game presents the past, present, and future simultaneously, letting choices affect regions, enemies, non-player characters, and story outcomes. Combat includes shifting enemies through time, coordinating party attacks, and timing offensive and defensive actions. Exploration includes travel by airship or boat, while branching stories follow efforts to oppose the Time Empress and change the world's future. The game combines classic JRPG-inspired progression with animated 2D art and offers more than 20 hours of gameplay.
