Our take on Clocker
Rather than presenting a single protagonist moving through a fixed sequence, Clocker divides control between a father and daughter and makes time itself the puzzle framework. Their separate perspectives turn narrative progress into a process of altering and restoring events.
What is Clocker?
Clocker is a puzzle adventure about a father and daughter separated by a barrier created by a pocket watch.
Players control the two characters in turn, viewing events from their different perspectives while progressing the story through time-based puzzles. The father can move through other characters’ timelines, pausing and changing events. The daughter can restore altered timelines and follow clues in her search for her father. Changes to the timeline affect the wider plot, with each non-player character following an individual logical structure. The game combines 2D and 3D presentation with hand-drawn, sketch-like visuals, while different colors represent time in its environments and characters.
How Clocker plays
- 01Two Character Viewpoints
- Switch between the father and daughter to uncover the story from separate perspectives.
- 02Timeline Manipulation
- The father’s pocket watch changes events by moving through other characters’ timelines.
- 03Timeline Restoration
- The daughter can return distorted timelines to their course while tracing clues about her father.
- 04Reactive NPC Logic
- Individual non-player character structures cause timeline changes to influence the plot.
- 05Mixed 2D And 3D Art
- Sketch-like visuals combine two-dimensional and three-dimensional techniques, with color tones indicating different aspects of time.
