Our take on Code of Princess EX
The pitch pairs a large character roster with RPG progression, but the stated progression is limited to leveling and equipment changes across six stat categories. The emphasis on a sprawling fantasy adventure may also obscure how much of the play is structured around arena combat and mode-based quests.
What is Code of Princess EX?
Play as Princess Solange, who takes up the sword DeLuxcalibur to fight a monster uprising and investigate its origins.
Combat combines hack-and-slash and beat-'em-up action with character progression. Fighters can move among three combat planes, and some projectile attacks cross between them. More than 50 characters are playable across Campaign, Free Play, and Bonus Quests. Characters gain levels and can equip weapons and accessories that alter stats in six categories. Campaign supports local co-op for two players, while multiplayer also includes cooperative and competitive local and online modes. The game includes leaderboards and Princess Points.
