Our take on Airstrife: Assault of the Aviators
The game trades simple shoot ’em up immediacy for added management and precision. Separate aircraft health sections, depleting ammunition, weapon research, and aileron-based evasion create more decisions, but also make each encounter less forgiving.
What is Airstrife: Assault of the Aviators?
Airstrife: Assault of the Aviators is a vertical shoot ’em up with RPG and souls-like elements.
Players fly customizable planes, evade bullets and missiles with aileron rolls, and manage ammunition that depletes during play. Damage is tracked separately on the left, middle, and right sides of each plane, with visual and internal effects. Enemies can approach from any direction, including more than 80 enemy plane types and bosses. Players can upgrade plane parts, research weapons, mount different armaments, explore a hand-drawn world, and find blueprints. The game supports solo play and local co-op, and includes cheats.
