Our take on Chasm: The Rift
The focus on interconnected missions and direct FPS combat leaves less room for slower exploration or puzzle-led play. Its presentation updates add newer features without changing that core structure.
What is Chasm: The Rift?
Chasm: The Rift is an old-school first-person shooter set after time channels alter ordinary life forms into grotesque mutations.
As a member of a special commando unit, the player fights through interconnected, multilevel missions, destroys the channels, and confronts mutated creatures. Weapons include the distinctive BladeGun, which can sever enemy limbs while they continue attacking. Environmental effects include rain, snow, water, wind, smoke, dust, sparks, explosions, and distant fades. This version includes enhanced graphics, revised sound, 4K support, twelve language localizations, and multiple achievements. The original edition, running through DOSBox, is included as a bonus.
