Our take on Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far
Rather than resetting each engagement, the game carries territory and damage into later battles. Troops may also reject suicidal orders, making command depend on unit behavior as well as tactical decisions.
What is Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far?
Command Allied or Axis forces in real-time World War II combat across five strategic bridges and three simultaneous fronts.
Troops differ in experience, fatigue, and courage, and may reject orders they consider suicidal. Allocate limited reserves between operations, respond to tank attacks and ambushes, and use terrain, buildings, and lines of sight during battles. Captured territory and damage carry into later engagements, allowing forces to advance or retreat across maps. Play modes include single battles, operations, sector campaigns, and grand campaigns, with several difficulty and complexity levels. Battlemaker lets players create custom battles by selecting units from a roster of more than 130 infantry and vehicles.
