Our take on Cardinal Quest 2
Rather than following a single continuous campaign structure, the game pairs three story campaigns with randomized runs that restart after death. Its turn-based combat also makes each move a tactical choice, while the Endless mode offers another route beyond the campaign missions.
What is Cardinal Quest 2?
Cardinal Quest 2 is a turn-based roguelike RPG about fighting through castles, forests, and mountain lairs.
It has three story campaigns and an Endless mode called The Tower. Levels are generated randomly, and Legendary items can change how a run unfolds. Decisions are permanent, and death leads to a new adventure on the next restart. Players choose from seven heroes, including a Thief who attacks from hiding, an Alchemist who makes potions and firearms, and a Ranger accompanied by a dog. The other options are the Wizard, Fighter, Paladin, and Pugilist, each with different skills and strengths. Character-building systems are intended to keep choices moving quickly. Enemies include bandits, ogres, werewolves, cockatrices, and other creatures.
