We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RPG players who want to tune skills and equipment rather than explore an open world
- Players who prefer a structured campaign followed by post-story challenge modes
- Hardcore fans willing to restart after character death and adapt to restrictions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign may find the 8–10-hour core story limited
- Players wanting free movement or multi-enemy combat may dislike the runner structure and one-enemy encounters
- Players looking for exploration-heavy RPGs may find the linear progression restrictive
Our take on Loot Run
The store emphasizes an epic story, near-infinite build combinations, and endless play, but the central campaign is a linear 8–10-hour experience with runner-style movement. The longer-term challenge comes from Endless and Hardcore modes after the story, rather than an expansive main adventure.
What is Loot Run?
Loot Run is a linear RPG with runner-style movement, where play centers on avoiding obstacles and fighting one enemy at a time.
Players assign six skills to a bar from 36 unlockable options, combining different strengths, weaknesses, and synergies with specialization choices and gear. The main story takes 8–10 hours and includes 50 quests, character scenes, boss battles, and equipment ranging from common to legendary. After the story, Endless mode sends the character through increasingly difficult enemy waves in the Abyss. Hardcore mode begins with a new character, stronger enemies, weaker gear drops, restrictions on changing skills during levels, and permanent death. Completing its story opens a hardcore version of Endless mode.
