Our take on Britannia
Its defining structure is a board-game adaptation spanning Britain’s history from 43 to 1066 A.D., with three scenarios that frame the Roman, Germanic, and northern invasions.
What is Britannia?
Britannia is a digital version of a historical board game set across more than a millennium of British history, spanning the Roman arrival in 43 A.
D. and the Norman Conquest around 1066. Players guide Romans, Angles, Saxons, Picts, Norwegians, Scots, Irish, Danes, or Normans through national development, army administration, territorial expansion, and tactical battlefield choices. Points are awarded for taking and retaining areas, eliminating opposing forces, and attaining the titles of Bretwalda or King of England. Three scenarios focus on the Roman campaign, Germanic incursions during the fifth century, and attacks from northern peoples through roughly 1066. The game can be played without an internet connection by 1 to 4 participants, with options for alternate historical results.
