Our take on Bodyless
Rather than treating history as background for combat or exploration, the experience makes perception itself the structure. Its ghostly viewpoint, unstable architecture, and fragmented memories replace a conventional action-adventure progression with an atmospheric passage through political history.
What is Bodyless?
Bodyless is a virtual reality journey set during Taiwan’s martial law era.
The player inhabits the ghost of a political prisoner and drifts through cells, courtyards, and broken memory spaces. Architecture shifts and collapses as folklore, surveillance, sound, and state control overlap. The experience uses a first-person ghost viewpoint and presents its historical setting through spatial changes, audio, and perception rather than direct explanation. Its surreal narrative moves between memory and reality, with mechanical systems appearing within the environment. The journey focuses on atmosphere, fragmented spaces, and the perspective of someone who is already dead.
