Our take on Blocks!: Richard III
The bounce point is the local hot-seat format: multiplayer requires two people to share a session. Solo play is limited to the AI mode, while players seeking a wider empire-management structure may find the Lancaster–York conflict narrowly focused.
What is Blocks!: Richard III?
Blocks!
: Richard III is a two-player wargame about the 15th-century dynastic struggle between Lancaster and York for England’s throne. It supports one player against AI and local two-player hot-seat play. Lancaster begins with the throne, while York starts in exile and prepares to invade. Control of the crown may change several times during a game. Victory comes from eliminating all five opposing heirs or gaining control of England’s influential nobles. The game includes Henry VI, Queen Margaret, Edward IV, Richard III, Henry VII, and Warwick, known as the Kingmaker. The outcome may see Richard III triumph or perish in battle, as he did historically.
