Our take on Battle Mages: Sign of Darkness
Rather than centering on one continuous hero story, the game divides its fantasy conflict across four campaigns, each with a distinct hero. It also combines army command with RPG-style inventory management and changing day, night, and weather conditions.
What is Battle Mages: Sign of Darkness?
Battle Mages: Sign of Darkness is a fantasy strategy RPG set a thousand years after a war between Chaos and Order.
A young neophyte travels north to study under an eccentric wizard who belongs to the Guild’s Keepers. The game presents four campaigns about conflicts among Daenmor’s nations, including the Order, elves, Orcs, Chaos, Dwarves, and the Undead. Each campaign has its own hero with distinct traits, while that hero remains with the army throughout the story. Gameplay includes single-player maps, troop tactics, new spells from a Dark Magic school, additional units and upgrades, and an inventory with trading, artifacts, and items. Battles also take place under changing day, night, and weather conditions.
