Our take on Asterogues
The focus on projectile patterns and repeated runs trades broader exploration for concentrated combat practice. Item combinations add variation between attempts, while progression stays centered on dodging attacks and defeating the 8 planets before the Sun.
What is Asterogues?
Asterogues combines shoot-em-up combat with bullet-hell survival and run-based item collection.
Players choose from rebel characters banished to the Asteroid Belt, with each character having a special ability that can turn enemy bullets against their attackers. During each run, players collect active and passive items and weapons, creating different combinations. Several zones contain asteroids, aliens, stars, and other enemies that fire distinct projectiles. Players must learn the bullet and enemy patterns while avoiding the incoming attacks. The 8 planets control the Solar System and must be defeated before the Sun can be reached. Characters can be unlocked and mastered as players work through the planetary territories.
