Our take on Altarium
The store page gives substantial attention to atmosphere, tension, and planned future content, but the current description centers on a relatively focused role-based survival loop: Team A cooperates while Luxazul hunts them. That distinction matters more than the broader adventure framing.
What is Altarium?
Altarium is a first-person horror game built around an uneven contest between hunters and a jewel guardian.
Players can join Team A and cooperate to survive in Goldenhorn, or control Luxazul, the guardian who tries to defeat the bounty hunters. Matches support PvP and cooperative play for 1 to 5 players. Team A members use communication, character abilities, equipment, and environmental advantages during the struggle to escape. Luxazul uses abilities and the surrounding setting to stop them. The story follows a research team sent to recover the Korion Jewel, an object said to grant mystical powers, but the team becomes trapped in the town. The vendor also states plans for regular updates containing characters, maps, equipment, and other content.
How Altarium plays

- 02Small Multiplayer Groups
- The game supports sessions involving between 1 and 5 players.
- 03Character Abilities
- Avatars can use distinct abilities and special equipment during each struggle.
- 04Environmental Tactics
- Players can incorporate features of the surroundings into their survival strategy.
