Our take on File Destined
Rather than centering on combat, this action-adventure uses crime-scene examination and map puzzles to move the story forward. Its investigation is paired with a light-management constraint: the lighter is the only stated light source, and careless use can leave Oliver in darkness.
What is File Destined?
File Destined is a psychological thriller about Oliver’s final case, a closely watched murder investigation.
Players inspect crime scenes and objects for clues, then piece together what happened and who is responsible. Map-based puzzles open access to other areas. The investigation takes place in a hostile, dark setting where unexpected dangers and spirits may appear. A lighter is the available light source, and its use follows real-life mechanics: spending too much time in darkness can bring danger, while using the lighter carelessly may leave players without light. The case’s truth may differ from what players expect. The game was developed with Unreal Engine 5.
