ActionIs Reflecting Fate worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Detective-thriller fans who prefer open exploration over a fixed sequence of locations
- Mystery players who enjoy examining objects and connecting evidence
- Players familiar with Lex Mortis who want a continuation of that universe
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly linear detective story may not suit the open island and branching investigation
- Those looking for action-focused gameplay may find the emphasis on clues, examination, and evidence gathering too investigative
- Players wanting a standalone setting may not want a story connected to the Lex Mortis universe
Our take on Reflecting Fate
The investigation replaces a fixed detective sequence with an island that is open immediately. Homes and objects become sources of evidence, while different routes can lead through the case instead of one required progression.
What is Reflecting Fate?
Set in 1996 on Denwood, this first-person detective thriller follows an island resident investigating cattle that vanish at night without a trace.
The case becomes personal when the disappearances affect the lead character’s family. Denwood is open from the beginning, allowing the plot and a separate investigation to be pursued across the island. Houses can be visited, and objects contain traces of their residents. Players examine details, compare facts, and collect evidence to build an explanation of the island’s mystery. The investigation is nonlinear, and the final outcome can be reached through different routes. Reflecting Fate continues the story of the Lex Mortis universe and transfers revised content from that game to a new engine.
