Our take on Alienzix
The game focuses on compact, combat-heavy stages, giving up broader exploration and story development. Cooperative play also uses asymmetric rules: the second player moves more slowly and receives different energy and damage treatment.
What is Alienzix?
Alienzix is a mouse-controlled shooter with 26 levels arranged across six sections.
Players destroy hostile objects, avoid incoming fire, evade airborne enemies, and use Hyper-Gravitation when necessary. Bonuses descending into the play area can provide weapons, lives, shields, and other benefits. The game includes 30 weapons, with duplicate pickups evolving a weapon into a stronger form. Four difficulty levels set the challenge. Local cooperative play supports two people at one computer, with different energy, damage, and movement rules for the second player. The game also includes an illustrated HTML manual containing tables. In cooperative mode, energy gain is reduced by 50%; the second player takes less damage but moves more slowly.
