Our take on Atomic City
Instead of moving through stages toward a final boss or ending, Atomic City turns the shoot-'em-up into an open-ended endurance contest. One-minute waves, automatic weapon handling, and leaderboard scoring replace campaign completion as the main structure.
What is Atomic City?
Atomic City is a mouse-controlled shoot-'em-up built around one-minute enemy waves.
Left and right mouse buttons fire separate weapons, while the middle button swaps them; keyboard alternatives are available, with Escape used for pausing. Basic weapons have unlimited ammunition, while weapons collected from enemy remains offer greater firepower but run out. Supplies landing on either side equip that side's weapon, while shooting supplies in midair awards gold coins. Surviving a wave opens a shop for new supplies. Damage-free rounds grant extra gold, and collecting at least 999 gold unlocks an emergency drop that consumes the full amount. The game has no victory state; its online leaderboard records high scores.
How Atomic City plays
- 01Dual weapon controls
- Separate mouse buttons operate the left and right weapons, with a third button available for switching.
- 02Limited weapon supplies
- Collected weapons provide stronger firepower but expire when their ammunition is exhausted.
- 03Timed attack waves
- Each assault lasts one minute before access to the supply shop.
- 04Gold reward system
- Midair supply shots and damage-free rounds provide different ways to earn gold.
- 05Online leaderboard
- Players compete for high scores because the game has no beatable ending.
