Our take on 1666: Amsterdam
Its defining structure is the split between daytime investigation and nighttime supernatural reckoning, moving from locating hidden entities to confronting their true forms.
What is 1666: Amsterdam?
Set in Amsterdam in 1666, this third-person action-adventure follows Noa Brooklyn, the Collector, as she hunts ancient entities hiding behind ordinary citizens.
During the day, she examines a carefully crafted city and investigates clues; after dark, she marks chosen targets and confronts their unveiled forms at the moonlit Esbat. Noa draws on Zaindari traditions of magic and spell use. Encounters support several approaches, with decisions, timing, and tactics affecting their results. Aaron, called from 1999, joins her while experiencing the world through a cat’s vision. Control alternates between Noa and Aaron, whose contrasting styles pair arcane abilities with feline movement and skills.
