Our take on 1000xRESIST
The premise foregrounds an alien occupation and a society in hiding, but the described play centers on visiting memories, solving puzzles and exploring the Orchard. The game’s three shifting formats make it less of a conventional action adventure than its sci-fi framing might suggest.
What is 1000xRESIST?
Set 1000 years in the future, 1000xRESIST follows Watcher, a member of a society living underground after an alien occupation brought a deadly disease to Earth.
Watcher serves the ALLMOTHER, an immortal survivor whose memories can be visited through a process called Communion. When Fixer reveals a secret about the ALLMOTHER and is executed, Watcher must investigate. Communion sequences take place across key moments in the ALLMOTHER’s life. Players move between points in time to solve puzzles and reach hidden areas.
Between these sequences, the Orchard serves as a hub to explore and talk with characters. The game combines third-person adventure, visual novel and first-person walking simulator segments. It includes more than 10 hours of playtime and over 15,000 lines of voiced dialogue.
