Our take on Zulu Response
The bounce point arrives when combat becomes a command task rather than a first-person firefight. Players must manage squad groupings, formations, target areas, firing orders, reserves, and command distance, with AI behavior also shaped by fatigue, morale, and recognition settings.
What is Zulu Response?
Take first-person command of a British or Zulu fighter and lead an AI squad in battles based on the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.
Orders can direct the whole squad, smaller groups, or individual soldiers to move, form lines, target locations, and fire. Matches support single-player, four-player co-op, and eight-player multiplayer. Settings cover weapon and melee effects, AI skill, movement, detection, fatigue, morale, command range, objectives, timers, smoke, aiming aids, re-spawning, reloads, and spear impalement. Player classes affect squad size and reserves. Maps are based on historical battlefields, satellite imagery, period drawings, and maps. British players earn medals, while Zulu players receive rewards that affect their AI during play.
