Our take on DIRECT CONTACT
The defining constraint is physical gear persistence: magazines must be managed individually, and equipment remains on the battlefield after a fatality until the squad recovers it.
What is DIRECT CONTACT?
Direct Contact is a first-person cooperative tactical shooter set in modern warfare.
Players coordinate in an HQ lobby, select one of four roles—Assault, MG Rifle, JTAC Operator, or Sniper—and deploy by helicopter after reviewing mission information on a tactical map. Missions include silent breaches, airstrikes, artillery barrages, and combat against enemies that use cover, flanking, drones, and suppression. Weapons can be modified at an interactive workbench, while ammunition is managed through physical magazines that can be reloaded manually. A persistent HQ vault stores weapons, medical supplies, ammunition, and equipment. If a player falls, their equipment remains at the death location for squad members to recover. Head, torso, arms, and legs can fracture, bleed, or sustain tissue damage.
How DIRECT CONTACT plays
- 01Four Combat Roles
- Mission teams can include Assault, MG Rifle, JTAC Operator, and Sniper positions, with role selection locked before deployment.
- 02Helicopter Deployment
- Squads review a tactical map, choose a destination, and enter hostile areas from the HQ helicopter.
- 03Fire Support Calls
- The JTAC Operator can coordinate jet attacks with guided missiles and artillery barrages featuring projectile arcs and flight times.
- 04Persistent Gear Storage
- A private HQ vault retains weapons, ammunition, medical supplies, and equipment between matches.
- 05Physical Magazine Handling
- Players track individual magazines, perform tactical reloads, and repack loose rounds manually.
- 06Recoverable Battlefield Gear
- Equipment stays at the fall location in a container that squad members can secure and retrieve.
- 07Modular Weapon Workbench
- The workstation scans firearm attachment points and updates available customization categories as parts are installed.
- 08Body-Part Health
- Head, torso, arms, and legs track separate injuries, including fractures, bleeding, and tissue damage.
