Our take on YIIK: A Postmodern RPG
Rather than centering on a standard fantasy quest, the game replaces familiar RPG worldbuilding with fractured realities, psychological imagery, and a story shared between Alex and the Nameless Child. Its turn-based battles also add bleeding pressure, making continued action part of the danger.
What is YIIK: A Postmodern RPG?
YIIK: A Postmodern RPG follows Alex, a recent college graduate whose reality begins to unravel after he witnesses a woman vanish from an iron maiden.
Guided by a mysterious cat, he investigates alongside the Nameless Child, whose story intersects with his own. Exploration moves through landscapes between dreams and reality, with puzzles, traps, and strange enemies. Battles use turn-based actions, everyday weapons, and Karta abilities. Damage causes bleeding, and further actions while bleeding bring characters closer to defeat, creating a race to control the fight. The game also includes a soundtrack of more than 200 tracks spanning genres from drum and bass to progressive rock.
