Our take on XO-Planets
Instead of separating platforming combat from defensive strategy, XO-Planets places both in the same run. Tower construction, randomized weapons, mission objectives, and permanent death sit alongside light RPG upgrades, replacing a more conventional linear action-platformer structure.
What is XO-Planets?
XO-Planets combines roguelike action-platforming with tower defense and light RPG progression.
Runs take place across procedurally generated planets, with randomized weapons spanning 9 types, weapon effects, modification drops, and Legendary weapons to collect. Players can use abilities such as double jump, dashing, and wall climbing while deploying turrets, missile launchers, and tesla towers. Death permanently ends a run and removes most progress, while rare Xolyriums provide upgrades between expeditions. Missions include target hunts, bounty assignments, demolition, treasure searches, battlefield exploration, and defensive waves. The game includes 5 major bosses, 5 bounty mini-bosses, 25 enemy creatures, 6 playable AI Reconnoiters, local co-op, crew stories, and an unlockable jukebox.

XO-Planets compared to similar games
