Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a single focused defense campaign may hit a wall when pet care, minigames, and extra modes become part of the loop.
- Players who need fully predictable encounters may bounce off randomized bosses, dog selections, and mini-boss appearances.
- Players looking for a deep standalone pet simulator may find the castle defense structure takes priority.
- Players seeking a purely relaxed cat-care game may not want repeated battles against dogs.
Our take on Reigning Cats
The bounce point arrives when the game shifts from placing defenders to managing the cats themselves. Players who want uninterrupted tower defense must feed cats, clean litterboxes, send them on ventures, and handle randomized encounters before reaching the additional modes.
What is Reigning Cats?
Reigning Cats combines tower defense with pet care and simulation.
Players defend a castle while waiting for Kingkat's owner, hiring warriors, archers, rogues, berserkers, mages, and priests, then upgrading their skills for battles against waves of dogs. The game includes six cat classes, each with two jobs and two modes, plus 13 dog breeds, four mini bosses, and a final boss. Day, night, and weather conditions affect gameplay, while randomized boss encounters require planning around hireling placement.
Cats can be sent on ventures for extra gold, and players must feed them and clean their litterboxes. The main game includes a story, unlockable items, two minigames, and three extra modes: Revenge of the Big Bad Wolf, War, War Never Ends, and Survive the Night.
