Automatic ammo recovery removes ammunition conservation from the combat loop. This keeps firing from depending on a limited reserve, but gives up the resource-management tension of deciding when to spend ammunition.
What is Wing of Darkness?
Wing of Darkness is a 3D aerial shooter set during a war against Blankers, unidentified flying enemies.
Players pilot Held Systems, weapons usable by a small group of young women called Frauleins. Flight allows movement in any direction, and combat features a selection of futuristic weapons. Ammunition replenishes automatically over time, so firing does not require conserving it. Cutscenes between combat sequences advance the story, which alternates between Klara and Erika. Each heroine tells her own story as the mystery surrounding Blankers and Frauleins unfolds. The game combines high-speed shooting with a narrative about the growth of its two main characters.
