RPGIs Wigmund worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Action RPG players who want mouse-directed melee attacks
- Fantasy RPG fans who prefer open-world exploration and side activities
- Players who want to switch between melee, ranged, and supernatural character builds
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want conventional button-based sword combat may hit a wall when attacks depend on mouse gestures.
- Players seeking a tightly focused RPG may find the mix of exploration, professions, crafting, fishing, hunting, and cooking too diffuse.
- Players who prefer a fixed class and permanent build may dislike the class-free development and respecialization system.
Our take on Wigmund
The bounce point arrives in the first serious sword fights: attacks follow mouse swipes rather than standard directional buttons, and dodges or rolls are part of staying alive. Players who do not want to practice gesture-based melee may switch to the archery path or stop there.
What is Wigmund?
Wigmund is a story-driven action RPG set in a medieval fantasy world influenced by Anglo-Saxon and Celtic cultures.
Explore an open world containing outlaw camps, ruined castles, caverns, and forgotten ruins while fighting Antiochus and his servants. Sword combat uses mouse gestures for directional attacks, alongside dodges and rolls. Archery provides a ranged combat path. Character development is not class-limited, with four talent specializations: Sword, Shield, Ranger, and Exorcist. Three professions—Medicine, Crafting, and Survival—cover potions, equipment upgrades, fishing, hunting, and cooking. Equipment includes armor pieces, tomes, knee-guards, and arm-guards, while special attacks and upgradeable supernatural abilities add combat options.
How Wigmund plays
- 01Gesture sword combat
- Mouse movement determines the direction of sword strikes, with dodges and rolls also required during fights.
- 02Four talent paths
- Character specialization covers two-handed sword, sword and shield, bow, and a melee-caster Exorcist style.
- 03Three professions
- Medicine, Crafting, and Survival support potion making, equipment work, fishing, hunting, and cooking.
- 04Open-world exploration
- The setting includes outlaw camps, ruined castles, dangerous caverns, and forgotten ruins.
- 05Build respecialization
- In-game vendors provide runes that reset invested talent and attribute points.
