What is West of Dead?
West of Dead is a cover-based shooter set in Purgatory, Wyoming, in 1888.
Players take the role of William Mason, a dead man with a memory of a figure in black, and descend into a supernatural frontier of wendigos and witches. Twin-stick controls are combined with tactical use of cover during fights. The hunting grounds are procedurally generated, and the world takes shape from the memories, culture, or beliefs of the souls who pass through Purgatory. The story follows Mason as his search sets events in motion with mythic consequences. William Mason is voiced by Ron Perlman.
