Our take on Diesel Express VR
The postwar setting and armored-train premise receive extensive attention, while the playable scope is relatively focused: four guns, firefights from a train car, and 6 missions across 3 maps identified for early access. The listed 50 squats per game also makes physical movement part of play.
What is Diesel Express VR?
Diesel Express VR is a first-person VR shooter set after a war that left small populations living inside self-governed cities.
Armored diesel trains called Dreadnoughts carry resources between them, and the player joins the Regiment to protect one from bandits. Enemies pursue the train in diesel vehicles and attack from outside the cars. The player uses obstacles inside a train car for cover while targeting enemy shooters and drivers. Missions are selected in a city pub, where weapons are also chosen. A shooting range provides a place to test different guns. The vendor says early access will include 6 missions across 3 maps. Four guns are currently available, and the listed gameplay includes 50 squats per game.
