Our take on Monsters are Coming!
The bounce point arrives when gathering, route choice, tower placement, and city movement must be managed at once. Returning too late from exploration or failing to maintain the city leads to destruction, although the hero can fall without ending the run.
What is Monsters are Coming!?
Monsters are Coming!
is a tower-survivor action rogue-lite built around an ever-moving city. During each run, the hero gathers wood, stone, and gold while fighting endless monster hordes. Players choose routes, weigh safer paths against richer rewards, and return to shelters to buy districts and select their placement. Town Halls, archery outposts, necromancer towers, dragons, special weapons, and ability upgrades support different defensive builds. Environmental obstacles, side hordes, and bosses add threats as the city travels toward the Ark. A run ends when the city is destroyed, not when the hero falls. Compasses collected after runs carry forward, while player progression provides further upgrades for later attempts.
How Monsters are Coming! plays
- 01Moving city defense
- The settlement travels toward the Ark while towers and other defensive structures protect it from attacking monsters.
- 02Resource gathering
- Wood, stone, and gold support engines, tower efficiency, repairs, rebuilding, and expansion.
- 03Shelter districts
- Reaching shelters opens access to new districts and lets players decide where to place them during each run.
- 04Persistent progression
- Compasses collected after runs carry forward, and player upgrades increase the possibilities available in later attempts.
- 05Hero survival rules
- The run continues after the hero falls and ends only when the city is destroyed.
