Our take on Wavetale
Rather than keeping adventure movement on conventional ground paths, Wavetale makes open water a primary route. Walking across the sea and swinging between rooftops gives traversal a distinct vertical and aquatic structure within its story-driven format.
What is Wavetale?
Wavetale is a story-driven action-adventure set around Strandville, a decaying archipelago surrounded by open water.
Sigrid can walk across the sea with help from a mysterious shadow, swing between rooftops using a net, and travel through calm waters and rough waves. The story follows her efforts to save the islanders from sea monsters while learning about the region’s past. Along the way, she meets fishermen, hermits, a surfer, a fashion designer, and her grandmother. Collectible hats, hair dyes, and outfits change Sigrid’s appearance, while scrapbook drawings provide additional information about the world.
