Our take on WARTILE
The tabletop presentation and Norse setting receive much of the emphasis, while the central experience is a tactical combat system built around cooldowns, positioning, and controlled pacing. The miniature theme frames the game, but does not replace its focus on managing battles and customizing a warband.
What is WARTILE?
Control a warband of Viking figurines across handcrafted diorama battle boards inspired by Norse mythology.
Wartile uses cooldown-based combat rather than fixed turns, combining tactical positioning with the ability to slow the action when planning is needed. Players control the pace of encounters and make decisions as actions become available during fights. The game includes quests set in a miniature world, along with figurines that can be collected and leveled up. Warbands can be customized with armor, weapons, and distinct combat abilities. Before each quest, players also arrange a deck of Battle Cards to provide different tactical options for the journey ahead.
How WARTILE plays
- 01Cooldown Combat
- Actions recharge during battles, while slow-time control provides more time for tactical decisions.
- 02Warband Progression
- Figurines can gain levels and receive equipment and combat abilities.
- 03Battle Card Decks
- Players configure cards before quests to prepare different tactical options.
- 04Diorama Battle Boards
- Encounters take place on handcrafted miniature environments drawing on Norse mythology.
