We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Town-building fans who want to manage residents and resources rather than focus only on construction
- Players who enjoy balancing food, water, jobs, and settlement growth instead of pursuing a combat-focused game
- Strategy players seeking a six-mission campaign with an additional free-play mode
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players wanting a narrow construction game may hit a wall when food, water, jobs, and emotional wellbeing all require management.
- Players seeking uninterrupted expansion may be put off when illness, bandits, wild animals, and extreme weather threaten the town.
- Players looking for combat as the main activity may find the emphasis on settlement building and resource management mismatched.
Our take on Villagers
The bounce point is the settlement-management load: food, water, jobs, and emotional wellbeing must be handled alongside construction. Players who prefer uninterrupted building may hit a wall when illness, bandits, wildlife, and extreme weather begin threatening the town.
