Our take on Venusian Vengeance
The presentation gives substantial space to the alternate-history premise, enemy groups, and pixel-art environments. It gives less context about campaign progression and the Ninja Empire, leaving the game’s broader structure less clear than its setting and combat.
What is Venusian Vengeance?
Venusian Vengeance is set in an alternate history where the Soviet Union has established a research colony on Venus.
Sgt. John Dagger travels there in a one-man vessel to investigate a super-weapon being developed in a Venusian laboratory. The campaign features combat against Soviet soldiers and Venusian lifeforms, with Soviet weapon technology available for use against them. Locations include Soviet security stations, dark caves, and lush Venusian jungles. The game presents these environments in pixel art and includes a Ninja Empire in its story. An additional Hard mode makes enemies faster and changes encounters.
