Our take on Venatrix
The two-character structure trades consistency for contrast: combat-focused exploration as Matthew is separated from Della’s stealth approach, so the game’s pacing and interaction style change with the selected protagonist.
What is Venatrix?
Venatrix is a horror adventure with two playable characters and contrasting approaches.
Matthew Kolth investigates Hartford Mansion and Carcosa Asylum in third-person, fighting monsters, gathering evidence, and solving puzzles. Della Hartfort follows a related path in first-person, relying on stealth to avoid the same enemies. The game combines Victorian mansion interiors, dreamlike sequences, fantasy landscapes, and Lovecraft-inspired settings. Each character has a separate storyline and interpretation of the events, with both confronting psychological and supernatural threats. More than 20 enemy types can be encountered or avoided according to the selected character. The game also includes a dynamic soundtrack and uses Unreal Engine 5 features including Lumen, Nanite, 4K resolution, and ray tracing.
