Our take on VALHALL: Harbinger
Directional attacks and blocks form the defining combat choice, with mouse movement also controlling how far Mjolnir travels when thrown. This gives the melee system a physical, input-driven structure across its survival, arena, and deathmatch modes.
What is VALHALL: Harbinger?
VALHALL: Harbinger combines open-world survival with directional melee combat in a Viking setting.
Players build and defend a settlement, collect materials, hunt for food, cut down trees, and craft weapons and tools. Raids against enemy camps bring combat, looting, and encounters with other Vikings and creatures. Attacks and blocks can be directed, while dodges, slides, and special moves shape close-range fights. A separate arena mode sends increasingly strong waves of enemies, with Mjolnir available as a reward for victory. The hammer’s throws can be adjusted during attacks through mouse movement. The game also includes free-for-all deathmatches and is in beta development, with ongoing content additions, patches, and bug fixes.

VALHALL: Harbinger compared to similar games
VALHALL: Harbinger combines Viking melee combat, settlement defense, resource gathering, and arena or deathmatch modes.
