Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a slow-paced exploration game may hit a wall when progress requires fighting zombies and ravagers.
- Players who prefer a fixed, non-replayable campaign may find the option to revisit levels for gear and experience repetitive.
- Players looking for a cooperative or multiplayer game may not find a fit in the described solo-focused story.
Our take on Vacancy Unlimited
Players who want exploration without repeated combat may bounce off when they need to clear locations to open further areas on the city map. The replay loop may also wear thin for anyone who does not want to revisit levels for weapons, experience, or better completion statistics.
What is Vacancy Unlimited?
Vacancy Unlimited is a comic-book-styled retro first-person shooter set in a zombie-filled version of the protagonist’s hometown.
The story follows a search for the protagonist’s father and the magical history of their family. Explore streets and buildings, collect ammunition, food, and weapons, and fight zombies and human survivors called ravagers, whose behavior and goals vary. Combat uses weapons and mana-based abilities, with experience levels and skill points for improving abilities. Completing locations opens more areas on the city map, which tracks progress through each level. An AI director manages zombie appearances and loot drops. Levels can be replayed to improve completion statistics or collect weapons and experience. Side objectives are also described as part of the game’s planned content.
