We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- First-person shooter players who want short, fast-paced runs with puzzle elements
- Competitive players who want global leaderboards and seasonal rankings
- Stealth-focused players who enjoy choosing different approaches to combat encounters
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led campaign may hit a wall because the stated objective centers on clearing entities quickly across separate worlds.
- Players looking for broad character progression or a large open world may find the 12-world structure too narrow.
- Players who do not enjoy repeated score-focused runs may lose interest when pursuing leaderboard positions.
Our take on Urja
Players who want a conventional campaign may bounce off when the game reduces each world to a fast entity-clearing run. The harder wall arrives during competitive play, where speed, route choice, and leaderboard placement become the main structure.
What is Urja?
Urja is a first-person shooter built around fast runs through 12 worlds.
The objective is to destroy every entity as quickly as possible while balancing stealth with tactical planning. Entities feed on nearby energy, can discharge energy to stun prey, and become stronger by transferring into depleted shells of higher-ranking entities. Knight, Bishop, and Rook entities have distinct abilities: shields, temporary glass structures, and resurrection. Each world can be approached in multiple ways, with AI creating variation between games. Global leaderboards, community competitions, and four yearly seasons add competitive structure. The top 10 players in each season receive prizes, including PC games and Steam vouchers. The vendor also mentions planned seasonal additions such as maps, game modes, and bug fixes.
How Urja plays
- 01Entity abilities
- Knights can raise shields, Rooks can form temporary glass barriers, and Bishops can resurrect defeated entities.
- 02Energy mechanics

- 03Seasonal competition
- Four seasons take place each year, with prizes awarded to the top 10 players in each season.
- 04Multiple approaches
- Each of the 12 worlds supports different ways to combine stealth and tactical strategy.
