Our take on Retail Mage
Instead of using a fixed retail-management loop, the game makes customer service an improvisational sandbox. Voice input, generated dialogue choices, and unusual object interactions replace standard shop tasks, while participants can cooperate or disrupt one another during a 30-minute shift.
What is Retail Mage?
Retail Mage is a creative job-simulation party game set in MageMart, where a store shift lasts 30 minutes.
Players assist unusual customers and can pursue five-star reviews or provoke one-star complaints. Voice-to-text input and generated dialogue options shape conversations, while store objects can be used in unconventional ways. Failed actions may cause demoralization, injury, or spontaneous combustion. Up to three other retail mages can join a shift, cooperating or disrupting one another as they discover store secrets. Character creation includes appearance choices, strengths and skills, and a backstory based on three interview questions. The game also includes a crow plushie, a mannequin with hidden talents, hidden lore, and mysteries to discover.
