Our take on Uragun
The mech loses run-specific modifications when defeated, but Intel carries forward to buy permanent upgrades at the Orbital Station.
What is Uragun?
Uragun is a roguelite shooter about a mech searching for its missing pilot in a world overrun by corrupted AI.
Each run takes the mech through region maps where path choices are tied to rewards. Levels are handcrafted, but enemy types, numbers, order, and timing change between visits. Weapons unlock over time and can be equipped in pairs, modified, and combined with plugins that add skills or alter stats and Heat Attacks. When the mech is defeated, run-specific weapon modifications and perks are lost. Intel collected during the run can instead buy permanent Research Tree upgrades at the Orbital Station. Expansion Cartridges provide additional run effects, but their use is limited by the mech’s Memory capacity.
How Uragun plays
- 01Changing Encounters
- Enemy composition and attack timing vary each time a level is played.
- 02Paired Weapons
- Equip two weapons at once, choosing from options such as shotguns, automatic rifles, plasma boomerangs, and rocket launchers.
- 03Persistent Research
- Intel gathered during runs can purchase permanent upgrades at the Orbital Station after defeat.
- 04Limited Expansion Slots
- Expansion Cartridges provide run benefits, but Memory capacity restricts how many can be equipped at once.
