What is Going Under?
Going Under is a satirical dungeon crawler set beneath the company campus in Neo-Cascadia.
As an unpaid intern, the player explores procedurally generated ruins of failed startups and fights the cursed employees found there. Laptops, brooms, body pillows, and other objects can serve as weapons; weapons may break during use, so choosing what to wield matters. The dungeons draw on failed businesses involving gig work, dating sites, and cryptocurrency, with startup founders waiting at their depths. Between runs, Skills learned at the Cafe can appear in later expeditions, and frequently used Skills can be endorsed for starting runs. Tasks for co-workers build Clout and unlock character-specific bonuses. The story follows the intern’s employer, Fizzle, and its parent company, Cubicle.
