Our take on unWorded
The store copy places strong emphasis on the writer’s emotional journey and artistic themes, while the playable structure is a focused sequence of letter-assembly puzzles divided into five books. That distinction matters for players expecting a broader adventure or deeper mechanical variety.
What is unWorded?
Assemble letters and symbols on a canvas to create pictures and objects.
Each construction activates a memory belonging to a children’s book writer hospitalized after a serious accident. The game follows his inner thoughts as his wife reads his own fairy tales at his bedside. Its story addresses grief through five stages: shock and denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. The narrative is divided into five books, with text-based puzzles built around typography, recollection, and dreamlike scenes. Players explore the writer’s creative inner world while reassembling fragments of his memories and thoughts. The central activity is arranging individual characters into forms that connect the puzzles to important moments from his life and past work.
