Our take on Underland: The Climb
The focus on large, physics-based scenarios gives each stage a clear puzzle identity, but it also narrows the experience around solving environmental routes. Players looking for varied combat, broad exploration, or multiple strategic systems will find less of those here.
What is Underland: The Climb?
Underland: The Climb is a puzzle game about escaping an underground city after an extraterrestrial attack.
Players guide Ivy through stages toward elevators leading to Earth's surface. Each scenario requires digging through destructive terrain, avoiding acidic fluid, and using environmental elements to open a route. Picks, pumps, pipes, and other tools interact with the game's fluid mechanics and physics. The available path options are limited, so progress depends on combining the digging direction with the behavior of surrounding elements. Every stage forms a large environmental puzzle in which tools and scenery must be used together to reach the next elevator and continue Ivy's escape.
How Underland: The Climb plays
- 01Destructible Terrain
- Digging changes the soil and determines which routes can lead to the next elevator.
- 02Fluid Physics
- Acidic liquid must be avoided while pumps, pipes, and terrain are used within the puzzle setups.
- 03Environmental Tools
- Picks and other available objects are combined to alter each stage and create a way forward.
- 04Scenario Puzzles
- Each stage presents a self-contained challenge with limited routes toward the journey's endpoint.
