Our take on Unaccessible
The defining detail is its wheelchair control scheme, which assigns most controller inputs to movement across stairs and obstacles while James pursues an insurance-claim approval.
What is Unaccessible?
Unaccessible is a third-person wheelchair platformer set on a tropical, brutalist island without accessibility ramps.
James, who has broken both legs in a taxi-hailing accident, must cross stairs, obstacles, and other hazards while pursuing approval for a health insurance claim. The wheelchair uses most controller inputs, creating a control system that takes little time to learn but remains difficult to master. NPCs guide the unfolding story and reveal the island’s lore. Exploration includes skill-locked collectibles, secrets, cheat codes, hats, tassels, and a speedrun timer. The game also includes autosaving, audio options, a moddable player skin, full Xbox and PS5 controller support, and Steam multiplayer lobbies for up to 16 people.
