Our take on Touhou Fairy Knockout ~ One fairy to rule them all
The direct knockdown combat keeps the central interaction simple, but that choice leaves little room for a layered fighting system. The current Early Access roster is also limited to four fairies, so character variety is narrower than the nine-character selection described for the full roster.
What is Touhou Fairy Knockout ~ One fairy to rule them all?
Play as fairies competing in Gensokyo, knocking opponents down with stomps or charges and finishing them with a kick.
Story mode follows a chosen fairy through five stages, each with a boss, and offers solo or two-player play. Each fairy has a separate storyline and dialogue. Weather changes every 10 seconds, with effects such as damaging sunbeams, airborne knockouts, and roaming electricity. Items also drop every 10 seconds; collected items can restore health, ground enemies, or alter movement.
The game includes six types of collectibles, including achievements, enemies, bosses, weather, items, and music CDs. The description names nine selectable fairies, but says the Early Access version currently has four, with five planned for later. Trophies are also planned for a future addition.
