Our take on Three Days to Chicago
Rather than stretching a relationship story across a long campaign, the game concentrates its narrative into a single train journey intended for one sitting. Its seven endings turn a short visual novel into a set of possible relationship outcomes shaped by player decisions.
What is Three Days to Chicago?
Three Days to Chicago follows Aaron, a games artist trying to find a new direction in his relationships, career, and private life.
While traveling by rail across the country from San Francisco, he encounters Paul, a youthful daddy bear dealing with personal doubts. Player choices determine whether the pair become friends, colleagues, partners, or something less defined. Each route is built for one sitting and lasts 1. 5–2 hours, with the outcome affecting the relationship. The presentation combines moving character portraits, retro FMV-inspired visuals, zine-like layouts, photographs captured around the United States, and a synth-pop score. Seven possible endings show how Aaron and Paul’s bond develops.
